Week 29: Nothing but the Blood
We had a partial break last week, so this newsletter shows both the pictures from Tuesday AND the memories we made on the week before while we were online. Most importantly, however, in on our meeting day, we celebrated the Passover, telling the story of the Great deliverance from Egypt, while pointing to the Great deliverance from sin, made possible through the death and resurrection of Jesus Christ. What can wash away my sin? Nothing but the blood of Jesus!

THE GARDEN
We are enjoying our Spring days at the Garden! What a great moment to meditate on new life and on God´s great gift to us by dying on the cross so that we can have life. In worship, we learned about the disciples and how they were too afraid to follow Jesus after He was arrested. Judas betrayed him and Peter denied him but Jesus knew his plan was to die and He obeyed the Father. Praise God Jesus did not stay dead but rose again after the third day just as he said he would. Mr. Jean also shared the chorus of one of his original songs called ¨Jesus be our Treasure¨ and the children started singing it right away. During activity time, we continued our sewing and embroidery projects. Some of the students added beads to their work. As part of our ¨B¨ is for ¨butterfly¨ and ¨Jesus can make me new” theme, our special activity was making butterflies with coffee filters, clothes pins, and markers. The first day they drew patterns on the coffee filters and used paintbrushes with water to spread the colors. The following day, after the butterflies were dry, they folded up the coffee filter and assembled their butterflies with the clothespin and wire antennae. We hung them up to decorate the classroom. They add a lot of color and whimsy to our space!
Theme of the week: “I use my tongue wisely,” Letter of the week: “F” is for “frog”
SEEDS and the Great Bird Visit
Mrs. Vivi and Mr. Jared led workshop this week, with both of them sharing the Passover story and leading the kids in our memory verse from Isaiah 40. We also enjoyed the bird presentation made possible by the Vazquez-Iñesta family. Thank you so much for sharing your expertise on caring for these amazing creatures that God designed.
Finally, there are some classroom shots from both History, Park and Music class. Mr. Jean and Miss. Ana did a great job assisting Mrs. Emily who tuned in through Zoom.
OAKS and our Time Online
While we were online, Jeremías led the worship story, telling about the amazing life of King Josiah, who in finding the Word of God, led the people of God back to true worship and celebrating the Passover. This was a great introduction to our break week. While online, we learned about Babylon, and Mrs. Michelle led a virtual fitness class. We are so thankful that even in times when we haven been able to meet together in person, we can still meet online.
Memory Verse
“Do you not know? Do you not hear?
Has it not been told you from the beginning?
Have you not understood from the foundations of the earth?
He sits enthroned above the circle of the earth,
and its people are like grasshoppers.
He stretches out the heavens like a canopy,
and spreads them out like a tent to live in.”
