THE GARDEN

This week in worship we saw Jesus’ power over nature as he calmed the storm and how he forgave a paralytic’s man’s sin and healed him. More and more people were following Jesus as he taught about the kingdom of God and showed them how to live. Since our theme was “I build my life on the rock,” we discussed how Jesus is our firm foundation. Outside in the park we practiced some relay races to prepare them for the Game Day. They loved jumping inside the sack and balancing a bean bag on their head. During activity time, to emphasize “R” is for “rock,” the kids painted two rocks of their choice. They were also able to “dig up” several different rocks and minerals in the sand table. They all did such a wonderful job on Thursday’s Game Day! I am excited to see how they keep growing for the remainder of the school year!

This week:

Letter: “J” is for “Jewel”

Theme: Jesus is more valuable than anything else.

SEEDS & GAME DAY!

This week in our program we continued with the practice of the Oaks leading the worship time for the SEEDS through telling the stories from the Word of God. This week it was Elisha Padilla's turn to share from the Scriptures. She told the story of the prophet Elisha who continued in the work of the prophet that came before him Elijah. We saw the many miracles that Elisha performed and how God used him mightily in the land of Israel.

As usual we had great times in the park this week and continued working on our timeline in history class. We discussed how even though the profit Elisha had lived 850 years before the birth of Jesus, so many of the miracles that he performed pointed to the things that Jesus himself would do when he walked on the earth. In this way we can see how God was telling the gospel story in advance all the way back in the book of Kings.

And of course, we had an amazing time at GAME DAY!!!! Check out the photos below to see ALL the groups at The Well Center represented, as well as the color groups: Green, Orange, Red and Yellow!!!

OAKS

The Oaks students also reviewed the Old Testament timeline and looked closely at how the profits were used by God to warn the Kings of Israel and Judah about the consequences of worshiping other gods. The Lord used the prophets to draw these Kings back to Him through repentance, however we saw that in most cases, many of the Kings continued in their wickedness. Interestingly enough, we saw that also during this time many people who were not part of Israel, such as Naaman the commander of the army of Syria, saw the mighty power of God and placed their faith in Him. This too was a foreshadowing of how the Gospel would be for all people, not just the Jews but for the Gentiles as well.

Mateo’s grandfather lent him a model of the heart to bring to Oaks Science class because we were learning about the chambers of the heart which are the left atrium the left ventricle the right atrium and the right ventricle.
