Week 32: May 7-10 - "Teach Them Diligently"

“Teach Them Diligently”

In Deuteronomy 6:7, we read, “You shall teach them diligently to your children, and shall talk of them when you sit in your house, and when you walk by the way, and when you lie down, and when you rise.” Here, the Lord speaks that it is HIS WORDS that HE commands His people to teach to the next generation. It is these words that we, as parents specifically, are to pass on to our children. What a great honor AND great responsibility.

As we attended the “Teach them Diligently” Conference in Pigeon Forge last week, this reminder motivated us both as parents and as the people that are walking alongside all of you here at The Well Center as you guide your own children in the ways of the Lord. We were also blessed to see how well Miss Nicole and Mr. Jean continued the charge to teach diligently while we were away. Special thanks to them!

THE GARDEN, SEEDS and OAKS

With a short week due to the conference, we were thankful for Miss Nicole, Mr. Jean, Mrs. Emily and our volunteers Marlena and Anaiah who helped run the programs together. Enjoy these wonderful photos of all the great work that was done last week.

Teach them Diligently 2024 - Pigeon Forge

This annual conference was a blessing to us, especially as we are planning (and praying over) how to expand the services of The Well Center for the Arts to better serve the homeschool community here in Puerto Rico. What a joy it was to share this experience with the Rios Family, who had also registered for the conference and who have had their children at the Well since we began the Center in 2019. As fathers, Miguel and I attended sessions that spoke specifically to our roles as dads, especially as it relates to work, family, and discipleship. For Viviana and Cristina, there was great encouragement to continue doing the hard (but worth it!) work that homeschooling involves. Even the kids got a chance to get some training and present at the end of the conference. All the sessions and speakers were excellent, speaking on a range of topics. We will be making room in the 2024-2025 calendar for the Well Center to allow for any families who are interested in attending the event next year. We highly recommend it for the entire family.

Memory Verse #30

Then the King will say to those on his right, ‘Come, you who are blessed by my Father, inherit the kingdom prepared for you from the foundation of the world. For I was hungry and you gave me food, I was thirsty and you gave me drink, I was a stranger and you welcomed me, I was naked and you clothed me, I was sick and you visited me, I was in prison and you came to me.’ Then the righteous will answer him, saying, ‘Lord, when did we see you hungry and feed you, or thirsty and give you drink? And when did we see you a stranger and welcome you, or naked and clothe you? And when did we see you sick or in prison and visit you?’ And the King will answer them, ‘Truly, I say to you, as you did it to one of the least of these my brothers, you did it to me.’
— Matthew 25:34-40
