Break Week: February 19-23 - "February Break Week"

“February Break Week”

Enjoy your week off everybody! We will see you all back on February 27 and 28!

Praise God!

…with tamborine and dancing…with the harp and lyre…with the sounding of the trumpet…Let everything that has breath, praise the Lord!

THE GARDEN

Oh the places he’ll go! This was Lucas as he made his way across the monkey bars this week. We are so proud of him in all that he has accomplished this year and thought this picture was the perfect representation of that.

The kids were so excited to celebrate Mrs. Vivi’s brithday this week. They made cards and decorations and were happy to share some special treats. They also filled out a card for Emma on Thursday who was having her surgery in the hospital. All in all, it was a fun, and memorable week for all at the Garden.

SEEDS

Our time this week at Seeds began outdoors for worship on Wednesday. We saw how in almost a humorous way, Jesus instructed Peter to pay the tax with money he would find in the mouth of a fish that he caught. Peter, a skilled fisherman, must have found this very amusing. Nonetheless, Jesus once again taught his disciples to trust Him.

The students made great use of those toilet paper rolls in their recycling workshop as you can see in the photos below. They were so excited as they walked in and saw the station of recyclable supplies available for their creativity to have fun with. We saw some incredible creations and they were all very proud of their work.

Finally, Mrs. Cecilia came back to finish her African culture workshop. While part 1 was about farming, part 2 was all about dance. She did a great job getting everyone to move to the beat. This was quite a fun week!

OAKS MIDDLE YEARS

The Oaks enjoyed a “full-day” version of their program last Tuesday. The topic of the day was how to grow in good habits and disciplines, as instructed by Luke 10:27. We spoke about how when God calls us to love Him with all our heart, soul, strength and mind, it speaks about all of who we are but ALSO gives us an outline of how to plan our day. We began with loving Him with our hearts, as we opened up His heart: His Word to us. After our reading time in Matthew, we had a time of prayer and praising Him in song, instructing our souls to bless His holy name. Then we loved Him with our bodies as we spent time stretching, having a snack and going outdoors to play in the park (hooray for special field trip to the Torrimar playground!). And finally, we then loved Him by giving Him our minds as we began to work on our academic subjects of Geography, Science and Art. It was a full day, but a fun day and we learned to love God better and then love each other well too.

Below you will see some of the notes about our plan for the day as well as the kids at the park and some of the patterns they worked on for our Saudi Arabian carpet design workshop.
